A nice looking AU 58 example with mint luster still still present for example which is just shy of uncirculated. When this 1920 Standing Liberty Quarter Dollar was struck in Philadelphia the United States was entering what was referred to as the “roaring twenties “.WWI was over, industry was booming and people were beginning to prosper.Woodrow Wilson was serving his second term as United States President.
The League of Nations was established on January,10,1920 to help keep world peace, prevent wars and settle disputes through negotiations. Also,on August 18,1920,the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified prohibiting any U.S. Citizen from being denied the right to vote based on sex. Thus, the Women’s Suffrage Movement was successful in gaining women the right to vote.According to the 1920 Census, the population of the United States had exploded to nearly 109 million people in large part because of immigration to the United States from people all over the world but especially from Europe.People coming through Ellis Island and other pots of entry seeking the “American Dream “.
