In 2009 the mint honored the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birthday, which is also the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln cent, by producing a bicentennial series of four different designs. Each design represents a stage of Lincoln's Life:
1) Birth and Childhood
2) Formative Years
3) Professional Life
4) Presidency
The proof and mint set versions were struck the in the original bronze composition.
