Coin Description: Just an absolutely stunning coin with vibrant rainbow target toning from decades spent in a Dansco album. The surfaces are magnificent save a few very minor ticks in the obverse focal areas, but still, NGC was extremely hard on this coin to call it an MS66, it deserves a "+" at the very least and certainly deserves a star which was also snubbed.

Comments: One of the early coins in my Jefferson collection was a nice clean MS66 5FS 58-D, but alas, I can't find it. I can't even find any record of sale and it isn't in my collection software. The only evidence I have that the coin exists are the photos I took of it. The first set of photos were taken in 1/2012 and the last set were taken in 2/2014, and that is the last time I saw my NGC MS66 5FS 2526507-102. Since nobody ever claimed it for their registry, I figured that I had not sold it and had just misplaced and that it would eventually turn up. But the fact that I didn't have the actual coin always nagged at me. So one day, I was surfing the Bay and I found a listing for a rainbow toned 58-D MS66 5FS with a terrible photo that showed no toning but also had a 30 day return policy. After opening the package and almost falling off my chair, I quickly realized that I was happy to have lost my original 58-D so that I could find this magnificent example, now and forever named: Lost & Found.
