Owner Comments:

I was able to add this 1903 nickel with a successful bid in the Jules Reiver collection, my only successful bid in that historic auction. Due to the half being obtained in a trade, this was the first coin purchased with the goal of completing the 1903 proof set.

A very eye appealing nickel with colorful iridescent toning and deep mirrored fields that lightly contrast with the devices. The reverse has a thicker layer of toning that some what obscure the mirrored fields. The obverse flashes and contrasts nicely when tilted under bright lighting.
With no hair line scratches or nicks I feel this nice original looking nickel is conservatively graded at PF63 and a great fit for the set.

The reverse is rotate 18 degrees as shown in the photos.

I have posted two differently lit pairs of photos to try to best convey both the color and luster.
