Owner Comments:
The first year of King Edward’s reign saw a series of coins for the year with the Imperial State Crown aka the St. Edward’s Crown or more commonly, the Queen’s Crown on the obverse of the coin. From 1903 onward the crown depicted would be the newly designed Tudor Crown. One may quickly discern the difference between the two crowns by observer the top of the crown. On the Queen’s crown the top of the crown will cone inward to the Maltese Cross while on the kings crown it is more spherical with the Maltese Cross on the apex of the crown. Mintage of the 1902 hovers around 2,120,000 coins.
