I purchased this original looking gray specimen at an online auction in December 2020, where it was provenanced to the collection of the late Steve Studer. This coin upgrades the Fine or so piece in my album. It was previously sold in August 2014 from the accumulation of coins marketed as the "Stack's W. 57th St. Collection". I have attributed it as die variety Briggs 1-C.
