Owner Comments:
I purchased this coin at an internet auction in March 2019 for a seemingly favorable price. It is a well struck example of a Classic Head half cent that retains some traces of mint red. However, it is not truly "uncirculated" in my opinion, as it exhibits definite traces of high point wear, especially on the obverse. Such "sliders" are frequently seen among U.S. coins dated before 1840 or so and graded from MS60 to 64 by all of the major grading services. For a truly uncirculated example of this design, see the 1835 half cent graded MS65RB (but probably brown by today's standards) included in "Sandon's Incidental Type Set" (U.S. Type Set 1792-1964) and "Sandon's Certified Half Cents..
