Owner Comments:

Without question, the most collectable uncirculated ASE coin was unwittingly produced by the Mint in 2008. That coin is known as the 2008-W Reverse 2007-W uncirculated ASE, and 46,318 of these error coins were produced before the Mint realized its mistake. The Mint does not consider it an error coin, but simply a different variety. These 46K+ error coins from 2008 have the original reverse design by John Mercanti on them, but were intended to have the new 2008 modified reverse design. None of the ASE proof or bullion coins from 2008 exhibit the reverse error.
