The Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin set was issued by the Mint for the second consecutive year in 2008 which contained a burnished American silver eagle. The coin shown in this entry is from a 2008 A.U.D.C. set. 2008 was also the year that the American Silver Eagle's reverse underwent a few minor changes. Most notably, the letter “U”, the letters “O”, the tilde mark, and ever so slightly larger stars are the most recognizable changes on the reverse of the 2008 ASE. The 2008 ASE modified reverse design remained unchanged until 2021 when the all new reverse was premiered.
