Owner Comments:

After four years of being out of production, 2012 saw the return of the Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin set which contained one uncirculated silver eagle. The coin shown in this entry is from a 2012 A.U.D.C. set. As mentioned previously, the uncirculated or commonly called burnished silver eagle took on a new look in 2011. To the best of my memory and research, the U.S. Mint DID use the word “burnished” in 2006, 2007, & 2008 as part of their marketing description for the uncirculated ASE. However, the Mint never again references the word burnished in their definition for this coin from 2011 forward. Since 2011, the Mint only refers to it as the uncirculated silver eagle. This appearance change gets more interesting with statements about the 2013 coin.
