This 1835 1/2 Cent while only in VF 30 condition is still a nice example of a coin that saw some circulation during the early years of our country’s development.It was struck during President Andrew Jackson’s second term as President.During his second term Martin Van Buren was Vice President;whereas,during Jackson’s first term John C. Calhoun was the Vice President.
A little known fact was that on January 30,1835 the first attempted assassination of a U.S. President,Andrew Jackson,failed when Richard Lawrence’s gun misfired.
