Deep mirror fields are displayed against the nicly frosted devices of this Top 100 Vam 2 S over the S variety. The mintage of only 750,000 1886-S Morgans is fairly low compared to some other years of production of the Morgan Dollar. Like most S mint Morgans, this one is fully struck and shows excellent detail in the devices. The San Fransisco Mint sure knew how to make thier coins back then. On the reverse the S mint mark is tilted left with a thin vertical line to the right of top serif and metal at top left side of bottom serif. A very low population with DMPL surfaces and the Vam 2 designation.
