Owner Comments:
Starting in 1908 Canadian Edward V coins were struck from a third mint, the Branch Mint, Ottawa. Coins for the most part are of medallion orientation from this point forward. With the medallion orientation you must flip the coin from side to side, thereby flipping the back of Edward’s head over his face, in order to properly orient the reverse of the coin. There are two varieties, a large 8 and a small 8. Mintage for the first year in Ottawa was 1,198,000.
