All proofs before 1917 have low mintage numbers. Treasure any you may own.

This nickel is special. Having a mintage of only 1733, it is rare in any condition. But this one is the highest graded nickel from 1911, tied with one other (but this one is better). There are only 23 Liberty Head nickels in the entire series graded PF68★, seven of which are also cameo. A single coin is graded higher: an 1883 WITH CENTS PF68+★.
