Ultra deep mirrors with good cameo contrast appear on this 1888-S DMPL Morgan. Nicly struck from the fresh polished dies, you get the black and white effect of an outstanding DMPL Morgan.
A few minor die varieties exist but none are significant. As with most S mint issues one sided prooflike and semi prooflikes are fairly common. Full two sided prooflikes are fairly scarce with some deep mirror cameos existing. This is one of those deep mirror cameos that exist.
This Morgan shows an interesting variety since you can see it without using the 10X loop. The number on this 1888-S is the VAM 5 (Slanted Date) Obverse III24-The Date is slanted with the last 8 high above rim.
