U.S. Mint released this set on August 1, 2017 in conjunction with the ANA World’s Fair of Money in Denver. Posted on their web site on August 3rd. Features the first NON-PROOF San Francisco minted Nickel and Penny since the 1970s. These two coins are both the lowest mintage of either series, key dates. NGC Population: 1 of 2,645.
Purchased two sets from the US Mint. This blended set is made up of ½ set (1 cent to 1 $) submitted to NGC for grading plus procurement of 5 quarters from an eBay dealer. The SP-69 Sacagawea dollar to be replaced with an SP-70.
All 10 coins struck with an enhanced uncirculated finish using a combination of laser frosted areas and an unpolished field that accentuates design details, creating a unique contrast distinctly different from the mirror-like finish of proof coins. First time the US Mint released this Enhanced finish on a UNC set.
