2020 (P) Silver Eagle Dollar
Stuck at Philadelphia Mint
Emergency Production
First Day of Release
NGC MS70
Flag Core with special label #968

This is the second lowest minted bullion Silver Eagle along with the first ever Silver Eagle to be given Emergency Production Pedigree.

These were produced at Philadelphia with no mint mark. Each of the 480 Green Monster boxes (240,000 coins) that the Philadelphia Mint struck as part of the Emergency Production had box tracking numbers 400,000-400,479 that were hand written directly onto the labels on each monster box. Not only were the labels on each monster box hand-written, but every single tube of 20 silver Eagles were packaged manually.....which leads to lower MS70 grades. All mint state Silver Eagles struck at West Point Mint are handed and packaged by machines. This resulted in a low number of coins be graded perfect MS-70.

These 2020 Silver Eagles made at Philadelphia are going to become a semi key date for Silver Eagle collectors. The West Point Mint was shut down to COVID-19 for 13 days so the Philadelphia Mint struck 240,000 Silver Eagles which makes them the second rarest issue in the 34-year history of the Mint State Silver Eagle Series; behind only the 2015-P with mintage of 79,640.

This is one of only 240,000 coins and is very rare. Population: 1 of 679 at this grade
