Description: On more than one occasion, a reader of my descriptions will have heard me complain that NGC was being too conservative. This coin is one of the mail reasons. Although the coin has nice light champagne toning, the luster is average, the steps are full but questionable in spots, and weak overall. That brings us to the surface preservation. Thought the coin gives the illusion of cleanliness because it barely has any minor marks, it has 4 easily identifiable major marks, 2 on both sides in the following locations: Tom's forehead, the right side of the coat collar, above & between the first two pillars, and above the D in UNITED. So either this coin is overgraded and belongs in an MS65 holder (it does) or many of the coins in my collection are conservatively graded.

Comments: I purchased this coin from an eBay seller in March of 2020 for less than $40, but it really wasn't a very good deal.
