1998 Silver Panda 1oz LARGE DATE MS69

The 1998 panda coins were stuck in both proof and BU quality. The proof coin did NOT include a “P” mark; however, the proof panda design differed from the BU panda design and it was also colorized so it is easy to know which one is the proof version. The BU coin had 2 varieties – small and large dates. The large date was issued from the Shenyang mint and the small date from the Shanghai mint. The large date utilized a “plain” 1 while the small date utilized a “serif” style 1.

Mintage was 500,000 BU (250,000 small date and 250,000 large date) and 100,000 Proof.
