Robert E. Lee, (Marse Lee)was

Born on Jan. 19th at Stratford,Virginia.

He later became head of the Army of Northern Virginia in 1862 after Johnston was wounded. A series of early victories against overwhelming odds made Lee one of the most famous and beloved of all the Confederate Generals.
