Owner Comments:

Purchased for my proof type set in 2018, this "black and white" coin is quite attractive despite fairly extensive obverse hairlines that could indicate an abrasive "cleaning". Because so many nineteenth century proof coins show extensive hairlines, the grading services tend to give them a lower grade such as "62" rather than designate them as "cleaned". Housed in an older NGC holder, this one might well receive a "cameo" designation if graded today. Photos courtesy of Stacks Bowers Galleries.
