$1 1878 7TF. REVERSE OF 1878-VAM 84 PCGS MS66 PL. (PCGS Non-VAM Pop: 20/0) This is the single finest example of this VAM 84 (dash under "8") die variety in the PL designation at PCGS. Its deeply beaming mirrors are captivating and if the devices had a bit more contrast would likely be a borderline DMPL. Sharply struck devices have a nice frosty texture, especially on the cheek and eagle. The obverse die was clearly in its earliest state, as there is a tone of reflection in the recesses of the design elements. A few scattered tiny marks are seen here and there, amplified by the PL nature of the surfaces. Great eye appeal. PCGS # 7075.00
