Owner Comments:

The only $5 gold commemorative coin released in 2017 was the Boys Town Centennial $5 Gold Coin, issued to honor Father Edward Flanagan and the home for boys (Boys Town). The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Father Edward Flanagan. The reverse of the coin features an oak seedling in a person's hand, being prepared for planting. There is an inscription that reads "The Work Will Continue."

There was a super small mintage of 2,947 uncirculated and 7,370 proof coins produced by the West Point Mint. The production of the MS coins set an all-time low record in the Modern Commerative era through this date and this coin is difficult to find in MS70 condition (about 145 graded by NGC). The pop report for perfect PF70 graded coins is just as low (about 150). Years from now, this may become a key coin.
