Owner Comments:

Gold started the year at $383.25/oz. and ended at $387/oz. Almost unchanged after four years. Exhibiting some orange toning.

Three $5 gold commemorative coins were released in 1995. The first coin honors 100 years of service in preserving Civil War battlefields. (As marked from the establishment of Gettysburg as a National Military Park in 1895). The obverse of the $5 coin features a bugler on horseback, sounding his horn. The reverse features an eagle on top of a shield with a ribbon in its beak.

There were 12,735 uncirculated and 55,246 proof coins minted by the West Point Mint. These coins are moderately difficult to find in perfect MS70 condition (a little more than 570 graded in MS70, twice as many as those in MS69 condition) and in PF70 condition (over 550 graded in PF70, less than half of those graded in PF69 condition).
