Owner Comments:

Two $5 gold coins were issued in 1993. The second coin was issued to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of World War II. The obverse of the coin features an American soldier holding a rifle, left arm upraised, and with an open mouth appearing to cheer in victory. The reverse of the coin features a "V" for victory symbol, with the Morse Code •••— (for V). There were 23,672 uncirculated and 67,026 proof coins minted by the West Point Mint. These dollars are moderately difficult to find in perfect MS70 condition (fewer than 850 graded in MS70) and in PF70 condition (fewer than 700 graded in PF70).
