Owner Comments:

Two $5 gold coins were issued in 1993. The first coin was issued to commemorate President James Madison and the Bill of Rights. The obverse of the coin features an image of James Madison reviewing a draft of the Bill of Rights. The reverse of the coin includes an inscription that reads: “Equal laws protecting equal rights are... the best guarantee of loyalty and love of country.” There were 23,266 uncirculated and 78,651 proof coins minted by the West Point Mint. These dollars are moderately difficult to find in perfect MS70 condition (fewer than 900 graded in MS70) and are somewhat easier to find in perfect PF70 condition (more than 1,200 graded in PF70).
