Owner Comments:

The 1991 gold $5 coin commemorates the golden anniversary (50th) of Mount Rushmore. The obverse of the coin features an image of a bald eagle in flight, as if heading towards the four presidents memorialized on the monument (Washington, Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, and Lincoln). The reverse of the coin features an inscription in calligraphic text that reads "Mount Rushmore National Memorial" (not very original). There were 31,959 uncirculated and 111,991 proof coins minted by the West Point Mint. These coins are somewhat easy to find in perfect MS70 and PF70 condition (more than 1,000 of each type graded as perfect).
