Owner Comments:

A beautiful looking 1917 Type 1 Standing Liberty Quarter in MS-63 FH (Full Head) as graded and encapsulated by NGC.This coin exhibits what appears as the beginning of a nice even golden toning on both the obverse and reverse sides with the exception of a slightly darker tone around the date area of this coin. This coin has nice eye appeal and was struck at the time the United States was entering WWl.
Woodrow Wilson was serving a second term as the Country’s 28th President when on April 6,1917 the U.S. entered WWl on the side of the Allies. Also,on August 5,1917 the U.S.National Guard was established. On December 17th of that year the 18th Amendment to the Constitution was passed by Congress. This unpopular Amendment, which prohibited the sale of alcohol, was later repealed by the 21st Amendment which abolished the prohibition of alcohol.
