NGC US Coin Census for Kennedy Half Dollars (1964-Date)

Owner Comments:

From 1965-70, while other silver coins where then minted in a copper clad alloy, the popular Kennedy Half dollar was minted in a Silver Clad mix that was 40% Silver. Also beginning in 1965 for 3 years Proof coins where not minted and instead the mint produced a Special Mint Set. This coin is an example of one of those SMS coins. It has exceptional cameo contrast, especially when you consider it is not a proof and has been graded MS67 Ultra Cameo. It is a very attractive coin and compares very favorably to most any proof I have seen.
