NGC US Coin Census for Lincoln Cents, Wheat Reverse (1909-1958)

Owner Comments:

In 1909 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth the Lincoln cent came into being. Initially the initials of the sculptor Victor D Brenner appeared along the bottom rim of the reverse. This was met with widespread criticism and the mint responded by removing mid year. Many where saved and as a result we have a great and affordable story coin. This example has great color, strike, luster and surfaces, a couple contact marks on the O in one on the reverse keep it from a higher grade.
