OBVERSE: Right-Facing profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, with year and country of issue. The artist’s initials are located below the right shoulder of the effigy. This is the third effigy (portrait) of Queen Elizabeth used on coinage, designed by Raphael Maklouf. Denticles extend from the bottom of the rim and continue around the entire circumference of the coin
REVERSE: Archangel Michael slaying the dragon, with the small coat of arms of the Isle of Man above his right shoulder. Along with the metal, fineness, weight, and denomination of the coin at the bottom, below the dragon.
NOTES: This is the first coin of the Silver Angels Series, and the only one to date to not have the Viking knit motif embellishment around the inner portion of the rim on the reverse.
There is a discrepancy between the COA and the Standard Catalog of World Coins in that the two list different diameters for the coin. The SCWC lists the coin at 38.50mm and the COA lists the coin at 32.70mm, there appears to be a misprint on the COA as the coin does measure 38.50mm.
