This1838 reeded edge half dollar in AU-55 condition was graded by NGC.It has a nice bright even appearance on both the coin’s obverse and reverse sides.This coin has the HALF DOL. reverse.At the time of this coin’s striking Martin Van Buren was in the middle of his Presidential term as the Nation’s 8th President. Also of interest is that on June11,1838 the Iowa Territory was organized.
