A very nice AU-Details coin which probably had been cleaned many years ago.This coin is sharply struck and still has great eye appeal for a Details graded coin.The Half Cent denomination came to an end in 1857 just prior to the start of the American Civil War which was also referred to as the War of Rebellion.At the time this coin was struck Franklin Pierce was the Country’s 14th President and the Republican Party was founded in Ripon,Wisconsin on February 28,1854.
