Circulation strike mintage 4,550,000

Of the 1940s Walking Liberty Halves, this year/mintmark was the most difficult to find with an excellent strike, and hence was one of the last of the series to be added to my collection due to that fact. During my research, I found out that the typical 1940-S has incomplete skirt lines and no thumb on the obverse outstretched right arm of Miss Liberty.

There are very few negatives to say about this coin. This example has full frosty mint luster with subtle golden undertones and 90-95% full skirt-lines. The obverse and reverse fields are 95% smooth with only a small patch of superficial contact marks on the reverse.
