Minted at Philadelphia without mintmark
Again, having a lot of problems finding a 1993 American Silver Eagle example in person that was spot-free and getting somewhat frustrated, I again went the extra mile by going online and finding a MAC stickered coin. With spotting being especially prominent in coins minted in the 90s, this coin is apparently a relative rarity since it was indeed spot-free in hand now in 2019. Unfortunately, it had two very light small contact marks (one on the obverse field and one on the reverse field) that were non-distracting and not in prime focal areas, taking it out of the MS-70 category. Otherwise, this MS-69 1993 beauty is a sharply detailed example on the obverse/reverse, with an attractive sharp strike on all the prime focal areas, full original mint blast white luster, smooth textured surfaces and gorgeous eye appeal. No hairlines on the surface of the coin, scuff marks or other flaws (except the two contact marks) can be seen in the fields at 7x magnification.
Numismatic and Financial News: After the investment bubble burst, this year began to show some recovery in the rare coin market. MS-70 bullion American Silver Eagles were elusive (as in 1992) while production rose nearly 20% from 1992.
The average price of silver rose to $4.31/ounce in 1993.
