Circulation strike mintage 3,884,000

Again, striking varies in this year/mintage of Liberty Walking Halves, but with the number of examples I saw in the marketplace, finding this appealing coin was relatively easy.

I suspect that this coin was graded earlier in the days of NGC (in what I believe was called an older "fatty holder"?). If graded today, I suspect that it might come back in a MS-65 holder due to gradeflation. Nevertheless, this speculation is not important to me, since my strategy was to collect for eye appeal and enjoy the examples I collected, so grade assigned played a smaller role in my decision to buy.

With no signs of wear, fully original luster, sharp strike and a smooth satiny skin on the coin's surface, the eye appeal is fantastic.

On the obverse, there are a few light scattered contact marks with only some seen in key/focal areas (left hand area and upper skirt). With further speculation and consideration of the grading question, I suspect that perhaps the grade on this coin was knocked down to a a MS-64 for the contact marks in the key focal areas.

On the reverse, all of the feathers on the Eagle's breast and left leg are present, although there is a light scuff mark on the upper left leg.
