Circulation Strike Mintage 3,003,800
The numismatic literature reports that weak strikes are the rule for this year/mintage of Liberty Walking Half Dollars, so I persevered until I found one that was the exception. Nevertheless, the strike in this example is sharp with only a small flat area on the upper portion of Liberty's skirt.
Needless to say, this coin has absolutely no signs of wear, but slightly less than average luster for the grade. But the eye appeal is still fantastic. There are a moderate number of light scattered contact marks in the obverse field, with a few seen on the upper portion of Liberty's skirt. Some light scuff marks were seen on the obverse field.
The reverse is well struck as well. Most of the feathers on the eagle's left leg and breast are present although there are some light scuff marks on the breast.
