WOW ! I was having a lot of problems finding a 1991 American Silver Eagle that was spot-free in person, so I decided to go the extra mile by going online and finding this coin that was MS-69, but was stickered "MAC certified", which supposedly ensures (via a third party service) that this coin was spot-free. Well....OK..... This was the first time I had heard of MAC stickers but I was willing to try it. Sure enough, no spotting. In my hand, there was an ultra minuscule contact mark seen under 7x magnification on the reverse which probably put it out of the running for MS-70 status, but no noticeable hairlines, scuff marks or other defects (except for the above mentioned contact mark) was seen at 7x magnification. It has very attractive eye appeal, sharp strike and the highest quality original luster which just pops out at you.

N.B. Sorry for the poor picture, but I wanted to get that MAC sticker in the image.

Numismatic News: In the numismatic community, previously inflated investment level prices settled down to more realistic levels. The 1991 bullion strikes hit a post-1986 peak of approximately 7.2 million coins, a record that would hold until nearly the end of the 90's.

Silver bullion prices were down nearly $1/ounce from the year before with silver averaging $4.06/ounce.
