Owner Comments:

Circulation strike mintage 548,000

Whereas past population reports showed the 1921-S to be the rarest and most valuable variety in the Walking Liberty Half Dollar Series, more recent published population reports released in later years showed the 1919-S has taken over that coveted spot as rarest and most valuable variety.

In hand, this example shows light and even wear with all key features sharp. The satin-like surface of this coin has a beautiful shade of bronze-like overtones which I haven't seen in my other coins, so I snatched it up !

On the obverse, wear spots show most prominently on the head and left arm with contact marks seen on Liberty's central body. The left leg shows rounding but is worn from slightly above the knee (which is flat) to the ankle. The breast outline can be seen.

On the reverse, the Eagle's breast and legs are moderately worn but show clear separation with some feather detail separating them. Some of the feathers on the tip of the right wing are outlined but mostly flat.
