Circulation strike mintage: 962,000

The Mint State examples examined (of this year/mint) were moderately sharp with good luster. However, because of the relatively low mintage, I found it difficult to find an example with sharp strike and excellent luster. That being said, I felt that this example had good eye appeal for the grade.

In the coin pictured here, the majority of the lettering is somewhat bold. Most of the original luster is gone. Extensive wear can be seen through the obverse's highest details along Liberty's body (i.e. Liberty's skirt and left hand), but this wear somewhat spares Liberty's head, with 60-70% detail still present. Multiple hits can be seen on the obverse field.

On the reverse, few feathers can be seen on the Eagle's breast and left leg which is uncommon for this year/mint, with usual examples having most feathers present.
