Circulation strike mintage 10,973,800
Despite the common presence of this year/mint in the marketplace, I had a rather difficult time finding a coin with a good strike. Yet patience paid out with this example.
Of the !942-D Walking Libertys I've examined, this example had full original luster and pleasing eye appeal.
On the obverse: Moderate number of very superficial and scattered contact marks in the obverse fields, with a few seen on the upper portion of Liberty's skirt. 90% of the head details visible, 60% of the left hand details visible.
On the reverse, most of the feathers on the Eagle's left leg and all of the breast feathers are present, although there are some light scuff marks on the breast feathers.
