Owner Comments:
The Roosevelt dime replaced the Mercury dime in 1946 after the death of the only four-term US President. Franklin D. Roosevelt was honored on the dime due to his leadership in curing polio by initiating the "March of Dimes" by asking all Americans to contribute a dime in the fight against the pandemic disease.
This coin type ranks 6th most common of 20th century types accounting for over 1% of all coins produced.
This colorful example has flashy rainbow luster and is breathtaking under natural light. NGC has graded less than 200 silver dimes with full torch bands in MS68 and none in MS69.
