Owner Comments:
Only one commemorative $5 gold coin was released in 1994 and it was issued in advance of the 15th FIFA World Cup playoff, the final game of which was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The obverse of the coin features the World Cup Trophy. The reverse of the coin features an image of the 1994 World Cup logo and is the same design used on the silver $1 and clad 50ยข commemorative. There were 22,447 uncirculated and 89,614 proof coins minted by the West Point Mint. These coins are moderately difficult to find in perfect MS70 condition (a little more than 500 graded in MS70) and in PF70 condition (over 670 graded in PF70).
