Moon core label, 1st Releases.

In 2019, a commemorative half dollar was issued to honor Apollo 11's 50th Anniversary. It was the 25th half dollar minted in the "Modern Commemorative" era. This coin was an exciting release because it was struck in a unique domed or concave/convex shape (2nd time this shape was used to produce a commemorative). The obverse of the 2019-S half dollar features an iconic image of Neil Armstrong's lunar footprint. The reverse is a cool shot of Buzz Aldrin on the moon, as photographed in wide-angle by Niel Armstrong.

These half dollars are made from 92% copper and 8% nickel. The 2019-S half is easy to find in perfect PF70 graded condition.
