Owner Comments:

Early Releases. NGC MS70 moon core label. First commemorative dollar with 99.9% silver composition.

In 2019, a commemorative dollar was issued to honor Apollo 11's 50th Anniversary. This coin was an exciting release because it was struck in a unique domed or concave/convex shape (2nd time this shape was used to produce a commemorative). The obverse featured an iconic image of Neil Armstrong's lunar footprint. The reverse is a cool shot of Buzz Aldrin on the moon, as photographed in wide-angle by Niel Armstrong.

This is the third time in the Modern Commemorative era where a single design was used across all coin types.
