Owner Comments:

The Roosevelt dime remained popular when the silver composition was changed to nickel clad in 1965. No mint mark was used in 1965-1967, and coins struck in West Point intermittently from 1977-1979 also did not have a mint mark making them indistinguishable from coins struck in Philadelphia. Starting in 1980, all coins except the cent were supposed to have a mint mark.
This coin type ranks 2nd most common of 20th century types accounting for almost 10% of all coins produced.

This West Point example is popular with collectors as it was the only business strike from the 20th century to have the W mint mark. It was only issued with mint sets and never meant to be in circulation. It was released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Roosevelt dime.
