Owner Comments:
In 2016, the second commemorative dollar released honored the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service. The obverse features an eruption of the Old Faithful geyser, with a buffalo in the foreground. The reverse (oddly) features a Latina Folklórico dancer holding a banner that reads “Heritage - Culture - Pride.” I don't know how many people associate national parks with a cultural experience. It seems an odd image.
There were 20,997 uncirculated and 77,315 proof coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint. Because the production of the MS coins was low, this coin is relatively scarce in MS70 condition. The pop report for perfect PF70 graded coins is also low. I found this coin difficult to wrangle off an Ebay auction in PF70 condition.
