Up to this point in the series, each of the coins emphasized or highlighted a specific species of kiwi. This 2009 design instead shows a more generic kiwi next to an outline of the islands that makes up New Zealand, or a map of New Zealand depending on your perspective. That's what earns it the "map" designation where the other slot / item descriptions up to this point have named species of kiwi bird.
