Owner Comments:

Three $5 gold commemorative coins were released in 1995, and two of them were issued for the upcoming 1996 Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta, Georgia. The second Olympic coin featured a view of the Olympic Stadium on the obverse of the coin, with an inscription that reads "the Centennial Games." The reverse features an eagle with a ribbon in its beak that reads "1896-1996."

There were only 10,579 uncirculated and 43,124 proof coins minted by the West Point Mint. The gold coins issued for the Atlanta Olympics are among the lowest of all minted commemoratives. These coins are moderately difficult to find in perfect MS70 condition (a little more than 590 graded in MS70, about 180 more than those in MS69 condition) and in PF70 condition (over 700 graded in PF70, almost 400 less than those graded in PF69 condition).
