Item Description: $5 2016 W NATIONAL PARK SERVICE
Full Grade: NGC MS 70

Owner Comments:

In 2016, the second commemorative $5 gold coin released honored the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service. The obverse features a portrait of John Muir and President Theodore Roosevelt, along with the granite face of Half Dome in Yosemite Valley, California. The reverse features a signpost with the sign displayed in the shape of the National Park Service logo.

There were 5,164 uncirculated and 19,506 proof coins produced by the West Point Mint. Because the production of the MS coins was low, this coin is somewhat difficult to find in MS70 condition (about 520 graded MS70). The pop report for perfect PF70 graded coins is also around 520.
